  5. The Amazon Commitment Accounting facility is an upgrade to the standard
  6. creditors ledger and general ledger processing facilities. Amazon was designed
  7. with commitment accounting in mind: it's not a bolt-on; it integrates fully to
  8. become part of the core accounts' functionality. The Commitment Accounting
  9. upgrade allows purchase orders to be printed. Purchase orders may be entered as
  10. free-format text against general ledger charge accounts or apportionment codes.
  11. Once commitment accounting has been introduced, all the standard creditors
  12. ledger and general ledger on-screen enquiries and open-item reports can
  13. optionally include commitments as well as actual transactions.
